Ok... so I remember when all this new security came into play after 911. Its good I think. I'd rather take the time to make sure I am safe and get where I am going. Too many precious ones at home to take that risk. So I remember the rule of being there 2 hours early for your flight.
Does that still apply for the first flight of the day? I mean, the desk to check my bags doesn't even open until 1 hour before my flight. Early morning flights may not apply. Do the math and it could save you a lot of waiting... waiting that could be better spent in bed.. its bad enough having to get up 3 hours early.
Call ahead or look on line... find out when the desk opens for those early morning flights.. sleep in... make your flight... travel safely!
As a follow up, I got here exactly 2 hrs before my flight... 5 am... Got ticketed, frisked and to the gate in just under 15 min.... So I figure I could have slept at least 1 more hour... Traffic at 5 am is remarkably light in the Cincinnati area!
